SMK Training

Consultancy and training for campaigning organisations and funders

“The SMK ‘Train the trainer’ course was very enjoyable and useful for our team at Mencap. It covered the fundamentals of campaigning really well. It will be immensely valuable to the local campaigns programme we will be delivering later in the year.” Jo Davies, Campaigns Lead at Mencap.

SMK is regularly commissioned to provide campaigning training and support to other organisations and for grant funders. We are currently working with the Oak Foundation to deliver See Change. It is an intensive training programme targeted at Oak Foundation’s grantees within their housing and homelessness programme. The programme is made up of two residential weekends for all participants, followed by a second stage programme for up to six participants. At second stage participants receive coaching support to help them implement an effective campaigning strategy in their organisation. In the past three years we have also delivered campaign training to staff and volunteers in the following organisations:

  • Mencap
  • Student Action for Refugees
  • Peabody Housing Association
  • National Union of Students
  • Crisis
  • Comic Relief
  • Plan UK
  • Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust
  • Alcohol Concern
  • The Big Lottery Fund Wales
  • JHub
  • Northumberland Advice Network
  • PHG Foundation
  • Voluntary Norfolk

Each of our existing programmes can be tailored to your organisations needs or we can offer more bespoke support. If you would like more information please email John Knights.
