Head of Business Development


The Sheila McKechnie Foundation (SMK) believes people should be able to shape their world. And we exist to help them do just that. As a registered charity, SMK is the UK’s biggest provider of support to campaigners and change makers – from those just starting out to seasoned professionals, working both here in the UK and overseas. We also champion and connect campaigners, acting as a voice for the campaign community, celebrating success and bringing campaigners together.

We are looking for a dynamic, committed and results – driven Head of Business Development to join our senior management team.This role is responsible for the suite of support SMK offers to campaigners and campaigning organisations. It encompasses our training, coaching and mentoring and also our consultancy and events programme all aimed at helping those we work with effect positive social change more effectively and efficiently.

This is a fantastic time to join the SMK: we are actively diversifying and expanding the range of support we offer; investing heavily in new research and thought leadership; and scaling up our events and engagement programme. The demand for campaign training and support is growing from a wide range of sources, our profile is going up and we believe our opportunities are strong.
