Shout Out! is an award for young campaigners who are campaigning on their own or in a group of up to 5 people. This is for young people living in London who are campaigning about something which matters to them.

‘Bin It Right’ - La Sainte Union School, Camden
These students are working to create awareness of recycling options in their school and beyond. By increasing the amount of bins around school and offering more recycling options, they are trying to inspire their peers and create a better learning environment. Their goal is to improve the environment while teaching other young people the importance of recycling.

‘Labels are for Clothes, Not for People’ - Haringey Youth Council, Haringey
This group of young people are working to create awareness about mental illness amongst secondary school students. By creating a forty minute workshop, they are highlighting the risk to young people, discouraging prejudices and teaching young people how they can stay mentally healthy. They are aiming to change stereotypes of mental illness and reassuring young people that there is support available.

‘My City Too!’ - Open House UK, Lambeth
The My City Too! campaign aims to introduce young people to a world of architecture, where their aspirations for the future design of their city are taken into consideration. The campaign aims to make politicians, designers and architects aware of what young people want from their city. By trying to include young people in architectural decisions, Simone is hoping to improve public spaces for all.

‘Cycling to Success’ - Lambeth Youth Council, Lambeth
Stephanie is working to encourage and educate people about the benefits of cycling in Lambeth. By encouraging more people to cycle instead of using cars, Stephanie wants to unite her community and support a healthier lifestyle. Through using the media, working with similar organisations and the local council, she is trying to reduce congestion on the road and promote an environmentally conscious community.

‘Break the Glass Ceiling’ - Eastlea Community School, Stratford
These young people are working to create equality among men and women. They believe that women have a difficult time rising to positions of power or pass the ‘glass ceiling’, and aim to achieve equal opportunity for both sexes. By removing this invisible barrier for women, these young people are looking to empower other women in order to stop discrimination.

Jenny Field
Jenny is Deputy Director of the City Bridge Trust, where she has worked for the last fourteen years. Initially she lead the Trust’s monitoring and evaluation team and is now developing the Trust’s new learning and sharing strategy. She is a Trustee of Charities Evaluation Services and Lambeth Voluntary Action Council. Prior to joining the Trust, she was the Grants Officer at the Walcot Foundation, working on a variety of community development projects and legal advice services.
Andy Hamflett
Andy has been working in the political empowerment field for over a decade, both in the voluntary and statutory sectors. Andy was appointed Chief Executive of the UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) in 2005, which is a national network that supports democratic engagement and active citizenship amongst young people. Prior to UKYP, he worked at Lambeth Youth Council where he encouraged young people to establish education projects on teenage pregnancy, substance misuse and work with the Police around stop and search.
Lucy Musgrave
Lucy is a Trustee of SMK and a Director of Publica, a creative consultancy and Community Interest Company specialising in research and practice in the design of public realm issues. She is a leading practitioner in community planning, regeneration, social architecture and urban design. She is co-author of 'Design & Landscape for People'. Previously, she was Director of General Public Agency and prior to that Director of the Architecture Foundation, of which Sheila was a Trustee.
