Shout Out!

Shout Out! is an award for young campaigners in London, aged between 15-18 years, and who are campaigning alone or in a group of up to five people. This is for young people who are campaigning or thinking about starting a campaign about something which matters to them, whether it be gun and knife crime, recycling in schools or bullying. We want to empower young people to make a difference.

This Award is sponsored by City Bridge Trust. It aims to address disadvantage by supporting charitable activity across Greater London through quality grant-making and related activities within clearly defined priorities.

Kierra Box, won an award in 2006 for 'Hands-Up for Peace'. Kierra asked friends and other young people to send card cut-outs of their own hands with the name, age and argument against the war in Iraq. She used the internet to get 3,000 hands which were displayed the day the UK went to war in Iraq. 2008 Shout Out! Winner Charlie Young campaigned as part of a group of students at Queens Park Community School to reduce the school's carbon emissions.
